Interviewer: Danzig apparently didn't agree that the 5 tracks we heard went back to the old style from the first three records:

GD: No, absolutely not. First off the guitars are tuned lower and the way I structured the songs is totally different. I understand the remark at some point, because the new cd has, in a way, the same hard rocksound the first record had, but to me it's still different.

Interviewer: [The interviewer claims the last three albums had an industrial/electronic sound] Had the inspiration to go in that direction dried up?

GD: When it comes to writing music, I'm very unpredictable, outside of that too, but that's besides the point here. First and foremost I'd like to make the remark that Blackacidevil was completely analogically recorded and that it had nothing to do with electronical tidbits. With every record I make, I demand very much of myself and I want something different each time. As was the case with the previous lp's I did the production myself. The first two cd's were indeed in coproduction with Rick Rubin, but our ideas are too far stretched out to still work together. I've always had the feeling that, when I do something myself, then and only then it's done properly.

Interviewer: Does Danzig carry a certain message?

GD: Off course, my message is still 'kill everybody and destroy the fucking world'.

Interviewer: why does Glenn hate the world?

GD: As long as I remember I've always been a misanthrope and hate almost everyone and everything. People are idiotic, retarded and manipulative creatures. Have you ever been in a room for an hour or even fifteen minutes in the same room with what they call 'common' people? I have and believe me, I felt like blowing them all away. When I hear everyone complain about their fucking, meaningless, boring, everyday problems, I feel like commiting a murder. Sometimes I wonder if there really are no more people like me who have something meaningful to do with their time.

Interviewer: Do the other members have something to say about what makes it to the record?

GD: Before we go into the studio, everything is written and worked out. You know why I call my band Danzig? Because I'm Danzig, I write the songs, I do the production and I take care of everything myself. I can also hire a topproducer and pay him tons of money, but for what? To let an asshole like that tell me what to do? Years ago I made the decision that I'd take orders from no-one and I don't even need good advice. For the business side of things all I have is a manager and that's exclusively for practical reasons.
